Dismissal Drama: Deputy Prosecutor Fired Amid Allegations of Misconduct in Hawaii Loa Ridge Murder Case

Honolulu City Prosecutor Steve Alm has dismissed a deputy prosecutor amid allegations of prosecutorial misconduct in the Hawaii Loa Ridge murder case.

Despite seemingly noble intentions, the deputy prosecutor allegedly used evidence from ongoing cases in two educational presentations meant to warn and prevent crimes against Hawaii's kupuna.

Attorney Myles Breiner filed a motion to have the murder case dismissed for prosecutorial misconduct.

Attorney Megan Kau, who transitioned from being a deputy prosecuting attorney to a defense attorney, highlighted that dismissing the deputy doesn't rectify the issue, since the confidential crime scene photos have already been disclosed to the public during the presentations.

Stay tuned for more updates as we closely follow the court's decisions regarding the potential dismissal.
