U.S. District Judge Leslie Kobayashi Sentences Ex Cop to 30 Months in Prison

U.S.District Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi sentenced Maui Ex-Cop Brandon Charles Saffeels to 30 months in prison for public corruption in the form of honest services wire fraud.

Saffeels solicited a sexual relationship with a woman he arrested for drunk driving. His offer was to sabotage or "throw" her DUI case, in exchange for a sexual relationship.

Attorney Michael Green represents a total of 4 victims exposed to similarly inappropriate behavior, and is sueing the Maui Police Department.

“These women were emotionally in terrible, terrible shape,” Green said, adding that every time they saw a police car behind them they feared retaliation.
