Serving Families Throughout Honolulu

ALOHA :

Hawaii State Judiciary "Vaccinate-or-test" program rolls out this MONDAY

“We have been strongly encouraging vaccinations since February and are gratified to see that the vast majority of our employees have decided to get them,” said Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald.

“The Judiciary leadership team recognizes that a fully vaccinated workforce is vital for the health and safety of one another and those we serve.

Our hope is that more employees will get vaccinated to help our community battle this devastating virus,” he added.

Specific to the judiciary workforce, 85% of the 1,749 employees statewide are fully or partially vaccinated.

Beginning this Monday, Sept. 27, all Judiciary employees must be vaccinated or undergo weekly covid-19 testing.

By Oct. 4, employees who aren’t vaccinated or decline to disclose vaccination status will be required to take weekly COVID tests before entering the workplace.

HPD Officer FALSELY Accuses Fmr Sen. Espero of Running Out Back Door During Massage Parlor Raid

Officer Chester Desiderio was the subject of an undisclosed administrative penalty for Facebook comments he made accusing former state Sen. Will Espero of escaping a police raid of an elicit massage parlor. The comments specifically are below:

“Will Espero, remember the time when you was at a certain massage parlor and when HPD came to raid the place you went exit in the back to escape. Wow so quick to bash HPD aren’t you.”

Desiderio’s Facebook page was taken down after Espero filed a complaint.

Months after the complaint, Espero got a letter dated Sept. 10 from the HPD’s Professional Standard’s Office.

According to HPD spokeswoman Michelle Yu, Desiderio was not suspended for any period of time, but administrative action was taken, which Yu said could include a written reprimand or counseling.
